  1. The human victims portrayed gruesome symptom so far. The first feelable symptom is a headache which begins “typically on the seventh after exposure” (Preston, 1994, page 14) to the virus. The headache gradually gets worse. Afterwards, the victim’s “eyeballs ache” (Preston, 1994, page 14) –a throbbing sensation- as do it’s temples. On the tenth day after exposure the victim experiences an unbearable backache along with nausea, a high fever and vomiting. The victim becomes “strangely passive” (Preston, 1994, page 15). The victims droopy eyes make it seem “as if his eyes were pooping out of his head” (Preston, 1994, page 15). Their eyes eventually turn read and the skin on the victims face turns yellow with red markings. The victim behaves noisily and loses it’s memory. About 13 days after the initial encounter, the host coughs “something slippery and red, mixed with black specks” (Preston, 1994, page 17). The victims head turns black and blue because of bruises. Inside the victim, dozens of clots are forming. Eventually, the victim bleeds from his nose, eyes, and anus –the host lies dead in a pool of its own blood. The dead monkeys were, like the humans, not “visibly sick” (Preston, 1994, page 34). A few of the monkeys “crashed and bled out” (Preston, 1994, page 34).

  2. I agree with Zunera because with the human victims you were able to see physically what they are going through. unlike with the monkeys, there was only so much you could see if they were not doing well. You see the pain behind the human's eyes and their "eyes [would turn] red" (Preston, 1994, 29). The monkeys, before dying, had flu like symptoms but they weren't as visible as with the humans. The produced a lot of mucus and also had a loss of appetite. They separated themselves from all other monkeys and it seemed almost as if they were depressed. They didn't do much and when they died it was bloody just like the humans.
